What is C.O.P.E.?
Committee On Political Education (C.O.P.E.) is the CWA's
political action committee, which donates money to the campaigns
of political candidates who support labor and working families
with their stands on issues and their votes on specific legislation.
It is essential that we have Representatives, Senators, Judges and
politicians at ALL levels of government who are supportive of working
people and their families and who will support laws which will keep
the workplace safe and protect workers. If we do not have
politicians in office who support labor, then laws get passed which
hurt the working people of this nation. This directly affects YOU!
Big business outspends labor by a considerable margin, because they
KNOW how important it is to have politicians in office who will support
their best interests.
See your CWA representative or C.O.P.E. Chairperson. Many CWA contracts
provide for deductions for C.O.P.E.,
and you can give as little as 1 dollar a pay period.
